Year In Review 2012
It’s become a bit of a tradition here at Sight & Sound to pause as a team and reflect on our company’s year before moving on to all of the great plans we have for the next. As we do each year, we sat down with a few members of senior management to find out what really stood out for them as they reflected on 2012 and here’s what they had to say.
“As everyone knows, we’ve been working diligently to grow the business over the past few years. It’s been our top priority to not sacrifice product quality or service throughout this growth phase. I’m proud to say that we’ve grown just a little under 50% over the past 3 years and that this year was a jewel in the crown of that growth. Not only have we surpassed our to-date goals in 2012 but we’ve done so while improving our product quality and ultimately, client satisfaction. That makes me quite proud of our great team and brands as owner and CEO.” –Jon Davis, Owner and CEO
“About midway through 2011, I took over as general manager of our most recent acquisition and event décor brand, Mugwump Productions. Our CEO had a set of goals before purchasing that business that he was targeting by adding this to my list of responsibilities. I’m proud to report that in 2012, we grew that side of the business by 46.4% and surpassed our net-growth goals that were set back in 2010. Throughout the year, we made some significant capital purchases that allowed us to expand our service offerings and meet even more of our clients’ event needs. I’m so proud of the outstanding team we have in place at Mugwump and thrilled that we were able to exceed our clients’ expectations while experiencing such tremendous growth and change. “Going international with one of our clients was one of the bigger moments for me in 2012 as taking Sight & Sound to new locations has always been a goal of mine. When I started with the company in 2005, the furthest west we had gone was Phoenix and north was the Carolina/Tennessee region. Since then, we have traveled all over the United States and numerous times to the west coast. Adding Costa Rica to our list in 2012 was a big accomplishment and I’m hoping to add even more in 2013.” –Alfredo Garcia, Vice President of Sales
“2012 has been an awesome year! Our technical team is as strong as it’s ever been and has risen above the occasion in overcoming any challenges that they encountered this year. The upgrades we made to our equipment in 2012 have been very exciting, most especially the addition of QSC K12 speakers, Panasonic AG-HPX300P P2HD cameras and the Panasonic AV-HS410 HD matrix switcher. As a company, we are advancing our technology and pushing ourselves to make each show better for our clients.” –Dale Bicker, CTS, Technical Director
